Intensive Russian Strikes Disrupt Power Throughout Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles targeted energy facilities, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and residential structures in the capital.

Multiple people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the city came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor died and three other people were hurt.

The assaults succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with attacks already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were preparing for further attacks.
